Manitoba Council for International Cooperation (MCIC) launched its 35th anniversary with a beautiful exhibition style display in the main concourse of the Manitoba Legislature. I was pleased to see my photo of a blind reader from Ghana included on the introductory panel. This girl is reading at the School for the Blind library which was put in place by one of my clients, Osu Children's Library Fund, and I was there in November 2005. It was amazing to see how spirited the children were when they came into the library. It was as if books opened their eyes to a new world.
