Regular readers of this blog will know that I have been working at communicating the benefits of early childhood dental health management. It was my friend, Doris Mae Oulton, who first introduced me to the field and gave me my first contract. As CEO of her company, Community Youth Solutions, she consults extensively across Canada in the fields of social change in community development. In this capacity she has been working with Health Canada to develop the infrastructure and capacity building of childhood dental health, particularly in strengthening and promoting the role of dental therapists as a vital link in the dental health field in Canada. A conference for dental therapists in Canada will go a long way towards strengthening the morale and upgrading their skills. To this end, I developed the identity for the conference, implemented an online registration tool and created a conference specific web site to guide registrants through the conference experience. www.vancouverdentaltherapyconference.ca/
