A tornado damaged virtually all the buildings of this rural North Dakota town of 900 people, mostly of Norwegian background. They have been busy cleaning up the mess and getting their houses back into shape. But several did not have their houses ready to face winter. Organizers of the relief and rebuilding effort put out a call for volunteers to "button up" Northwood. A group of 20 from Winkler, Manitoba under the Mennonite Disaster Service answered the call and helped get the job done.
