Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana

In this photo Mary Tiser and her daughter Sandy, in the background, are inspecting her home in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. It is being renovated by Mennonite Disaster Service volunteers from U.S. and Canada, and the first coat of new paint has just been applied. The elevated home had been flooded by three feet of water after the levees were swamped or broken.
